Terms of use

The short version: be who you say you are, share costs honestly, and treat the people in the car well.

1. Who may use RideSetu

You must be at least 18 years old, hold valid Indian identity documents, and complete verification. Accounts are personal — you may not let anyone else travel or drive under your account.

2. Cost sharing, not commercial transport

RideSetu facilitates the sharing of travel costs between members making the same journey. The per-kilometre contribution is designed to offset fuel and running costs. Drivers must not use RideSetu to run a taxi or commercial passenger service.

3. Verification

You must submit accurate documents. Submitting forged, altered or third-party documents results in permanent removal and may be reported to the authorities. Vehicles must carry valid registration, insurance and pollution certificates for the entire time they are listed.

4. Bookings and cancellations

A confirmed booking is a commitment to both parties. Cancelling inside the cancellation window incurs the cancellation charge set for your city, deducted from your wallet. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may lead to suspension.

5. Wallet and payments

Your wallet is a record of contributions and charges, not a deposit-taking account. Balances are non-transferable and non-interest bearing. Negative balances arising from cancellation charges must be cleared before you can book or post again.

6. Conduct

Harassment, intoxication, unsafe driving, discriminatory behaviour and sharing another member's personal details are grounds for immediate removal. Women-only rides must be respected exactly as posted.

7. Liability

RideSetu is a platform that connects members; it does not own vehicles or employ drivers. Drivers are responsible for their vehicle's roadworthiness, insurance and lawful operation. Members travel at their own risk and are encouraged to keep their own insurance in force.

8. Suspension and deletion

We may suspend or remove an account for breach of these terms, for fraud, or where required by law. You may request deletion of your own account at any time from Help inside the app.

9. Changes

These terms may be updated as the service grows. Material changes will be notified inside the app before they take effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with jurisdiction in Surat, Gujarat.
