Privacy policy
Plain-language summary of what RideSetu knows about you and why.
What we collect
Your name, phone number, email, gender and date of birth; the KYC documents you upload (Aadhaar, driving licence, selfie); vehicle documents where applicable; the pickup and drop locations of rides you post or book; wallet and payment records; and messages exchanged with other members about a ride.
Why we collect it
Identity and vehicle documents exist solely so members can trust the person in the car. Location data is used to match routes and calculate distance-based fares. Payment records exist to maintain an accurate wallet ledger. We do not sell any of it.
Who can see your documents
KYC and vehicle documents are stored in a private bucket. Only you and the RideSetu verification team can open them. Other members never see your documents — they only see your verification badge, first name, rating and vehicle details.
Location data
Live location is shared only while a ride is in progress, and only with the driver, the passengers on that ride, and anyone you explicitly send a trip-sharing link to. Tracking stops when the ride completes.
Retention
Verification documents are retained while your account is active and for the period required by applicable Indian law thereafter. Ride and payment records are retained for accounting and dispute resolution. Chat messages are retained for 12 months.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to verification documents is role-restricted and every admin action is written to an audit log.
