Community rules

Community rules

A small, clear set of expectations every driver and passenger agrees to when they join the community.

Conduct

  • Treat every co-rider the way you'd want to be treated — with courtesy, patience and respect for personal space.
  • Discriminatory, abusive or harassing behaviour of any kind results in immediate suspension and, where warranted, a report to the authorities.
  • Keep conversations and music at a level that's comfortable for everyone sharing the car.

Punctuality

  • Drivers should arrive at the pickup point within the agreed window — passengers plan their day around it.
  • Passengers should be ready and reachable a few minutes before the scheduled departure time.
  • Repeated no-shows or chronic lateness lower your community rating and can lead to restricted access.

Cancellations

  • Cancel as early as possible if your plans change — the earlier you cancel, the less it disrupts the other rider.
  • Cancellations made close to departure may attract a cancellation charge, credited to the affected rider.
  • A pattern of last-minute cancellations is treated as a trust issue and reviewed by our team.

Safety

  • Every member is identity-verified before they can post or book a ride; vehicles are separately verified before carrying passengers.
  • Seatbelts are mandatory for everyone in the car, every trip, no exceptions.
  • Use the in-app SOS and trip-sharing tools if anything ever feels wrong — our safety desk responds in real time.

Payments

  • Fares are fixed by the app's fare engine and shown before you confirm a booking — no surprise charges at drop-off.
  • All payments and refunds move through the RideSetu wallet so there's a clear, auditable record for both sides.
  • Never ask for or agree to off-app cash top-ups; report anyone who does.

No commercial driving

  • RideSetu is a cost-sharing carpool platform, not a taxi service — drivers may only share a ride they were already making.
  • Running the app as a full-time commercial taxi, or charging beyond the shared cost-per-seat, breaks these rules.
  • Accounts found operating commercially without authorisation are permanently removed from the platform.
